"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

Insomnia

Already 3:00 a.m. yet still cant sleep.
Insomnia strikes again..and again. It never fails.

I close my eyes and see all the puzzle pieces floating around my mind.  I hear them and watch them click in place and that when they finally become clearer to me.  I see how nobody can save any one person, but also, how everybody needs someone.  I see how shutting yourself up in a tiny compartment can suffocate you.  I see how bottling everything up and stuffing it down can weigh you down.  I see how sometimes you need complete darkness to see things you couldn't or didn't want to see before.  I realize that sometimes what's real isn't pretty, but what's pretty isn't always real.

The Passion of Writing Online

HISTORY

Back in 2008, i joined blogger but i wasn't active since i was too busy with school stuffs. I just signed up and abandoned my blog after haha. Just out of curiosity. In 2009, i created this blogger account that i have now,  I had no idea what to write about that i know will be readable by everyone.  Yeap, i was hesistant and too worried of what others would say/think about me or whatever i post. Once i thought of posting anonymously, but i realize how silly that could be. I have changed my blog url a couple of times till i finally come up with Maria's Wanderland - Super Wander Girl. Yey!

Why Maria's Wanderland?
A place i can call my own where i can write down all my wanderings through life's endless journey, where i wander about the creative imagination that is unrestricted by reality.

Why Super Wander Girl?
From the meaning of it itself: (in a positive way)
Wander  - to move about without a definite destination or purpose.
(of the mind, thoughts, etc.) to lose concentration or direction
A girl who wanders and wonders at the same time wherever i go, whatever i do and whichever way life would take me. The ramblings of my mind, daydreams and how superwandergirl sounded like i was a super hero in the making..hahaha.

LOOKING BACK

I used to own a diary for all my thoughts/experiences but i most enjoy writing at the back of my school notebooks when im bored in class. Hahaha. Then i will just tear it off and paste it on my diary. I even make it like a scrapbook-type diary where i paste also those old movie tickets i recently watched, chocolate wrappers from loved ones, even bus fare tickets, all those special junkies that are worth remembering,  But when blogging become so popular and high technology gadgets was introduced, traditional writing become boring, (maybe not everyone..but almost) Since then, i haven't updated my scrapbook diary and ended keeping it in my baul. hehe.

PRESENT TIME

Nowadays, another way to keep memories last longer are pictures and posting them online. It is safe, pictures wont fade and the good thing is you can share it to everyone.. Online scrapbooking, photobooks and a lot more are one of the innovation that proved technology is really getting high.

Will someone still appreciate traditional scrap-booking???  Well, i still do and some i guess.

THE RISKS

Major risk of owning a blog/site is that when it becomes too popular someone will try to hack it or mostly, hacking happens to those online shops and will ask money for the owner to have it again. Its like online holdapping.right? I've heard and read some stories about that since i was into online selling before. (on Hiatus Mode right now since im busy with offline work) There comes also the ones we call like: Posers and Haters. Posers will take your identity while Haters will ruin your identity. Everything is possible online. it isn't bad though, it's in just how people use it.

Bottomline: Think before you CLICK.

 THE GOOD SIDE

Growing population of bloggers around the world means a lot of people wants to share their life experiences and their knowledge. That's what the good side of it.  Informations that are helpful and gaining friendship is one of the best things that anyone could get.

So early last year, i become more sociable (yey!) and joined a lot of groups to share my blog. I did gain some blogger friends. Some of them are Pinkline,Fiel-Kun, PrettyHash, Joanne, Lili,  and PinayRN.   It was all nice meeting them and looking forward for more friends. Many thanks to all who visits my blog and to all of my wanderers as well. Much appreciated. ^_^

Till next!

Define Facebook

...where love stories are perfect; where shit takers tell the truth; where everyone brags they have a perfect life and claim to be in love with their partners; where your enemies are the ones that visit your profile the most; where your ex-friends block you; where your ex-love unfriends you; where you post something and people interpret whatever the hell they want...

hahaha....it's really weird but entertaining.. ^_^

Meet and Greet: Completely Coco Martin

So this was last September 09, Launch of the Conviction, Courage, and Comrade Deo Cologne for Men by Coco Martin at SM Mall of Asia.  Go Behind the scene.  The show is supposed to start at 5pm but it started around 6pm and was finished nearly 7pm.  It was very quick but worth the wait.
The crowd before the show started, patiently waiting, Lucky to have the CCM (VIP Seat) We were seated near the stage and the chance to meet and greet with "papicture". So that's the part ive been waiting for.  I do admire Coco Martin a lot not just because he's handsome but also he was really a very good artist. Plus, he's so mabait.  I already saw him last time when he was on taping for WALANG HANGGAN telenovela (which i really really love and watch since the first time it was aired on tv.)
So it was announced that the show will start in a few minutes, everybody was excited.  And when they knew Coco Martin will appear already, the crowd was all shouting. NAKAKABINGING TILIAN, As in!
so there He is...
CUTE!!!!
It was really bonggacious especially the part when the confettis showered on stage.
The staff are very strict, nampapaalis sila agad. You cant stay for more than 2 minutes on the stage.   Well luckily i had a nice pic with him. I ask him shyly.
The conversation goes...

ME: Kuya Rodel papicture po..
COCO: Oh sige san ba yun magpipicture?
ME: Ayun po. sabay ngiti.
^____^

Glad i wear blue, same as his shirt color. haha.
Here is the CCM (VIP Seat), the free popcorn ticket and his autograph.
And a lot of Bench COCOlognes Collection. Hahaha.

So there, it was nice meeting you, Till next Kuya. ♥♥♥

Makeup: Smoky Eyes with Eyelash Extension

My sister wants to improve her makeup skills more so she attended Viana Mendez' makeup class. She got also a discount coupon at Groupon Philippines. (a lot of great deals here.)

I am not a kind of girl who wears makeup all the time (im fine with powder/blush-ons sometimes) but i really enjoy and love it when my sister always choose me as her model (no choice hehe!)  So this is one of the many times that i become her model when she practices her makeup artistry. (weeee!) The goal was SMOKY EYES EFFECT with eyelash extension.
She bought this brush set for 2,400peses (discounted)

This is unbranded but it's soft especially the blush-on brush, it's really nice.  My sister wanted LAURA MERCIER's brush set but its for pre-order basis.  When we visited a branch at Shangrila, the LM lady told us that there will be a great deal promo of brush set this coming Christmas season so we're really looking forward to that. Estimate price was 6,000 pesos up.
She can't wait for the promo so she bought a flat brush for applying tightline. Hahaha. But it's worth it since it has been her most favorite brush ever. (and now it's missing..aww.)

MAKEUPS USED:

for face
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Nichido Loose Power (Ivory Glow)

for eyes
ELF brightening Eye color
Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner (black ebony)
Eyelash Extension
We bought the cheapest brand of eyelashes since it was just for trial makeup. (costs 65.00pesos) You can use any brand you like, there's lots of choices in SM Dept/Watsons.

TIP: You can use the cheapest eyelash extensions you can get but never use a cheap glue for the eyelashes, always go for the branded one. You'll never know what will it bring to your eyes.  Well to be really safe, buy at shopping malls and beauty stores only.

for lips
MAC lipstick (girl about town)
HOW TO GET THE SMOKY EYES with EYELASH EXTENSION
  1. Apply light base color.
  2. Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease.
  3. You want to trim the false eyelash extensions before gluing it to your eyes. Put it on your eyes and trim off the excess portions. Sometimes the false eyelashes are way too long and that it will give you a very unnatural look. Trim off accordingly.
  4. Place a thin layer of eyelash glue on the base of the false eye lashes.
  5. Hold it there for 10 seconds to make sure that the false eye lashes are now on top of your real lashes.
  6. Apply eyeliner. Make sure to blend the false eyelashes to your eyes. You can use either a pencil or liquid eye liner right at the inner corner to connect.

TADA!

First picture was taken with flash, while the other is just with natural light.  The eyeshadow turn out to be like bluish gray but in actual it is silvery black (black fading to silver) it was just the normal smoky eyes, i would love to try the extreme smoky eyes next time.  Yey!

Homestyle Pork Siomai

Siomai is one of my favorite foods. Most of the time, i eat at Master Siomai before and after going to school or sometimes when i go out with friends.  Since i wanted more,  i tried to make my own and satisfy my cravings till i get over it. Haha. At first, i thought it was hard to make but as years go by, i realize how easy it was.  it's just the wrapping that takes a lot of time.

If you want to make your own, here's how:

THE MIXTURE
1.  Wash carrots and onion leaves.  Mince garlic, onions, onion leaves and carrots.

2.  Wash ground pork, drain well.

3.  Combine and mix all the ingredients. -  minced garlic, onions, onion leaves and carrots, 2 tsp sesame oil, 2 tbsp soysauce and 2 whole eggs

4.  Season with salt and pepper.

5.  Marinate for an hour or even overnight.  More marinating hours the better. (Mine was marinated overnight, it was an advance preparation because my relatives will be visiting the next day, less work of mixing for me, just the wrapping and steaming part)
so heres what the finished mixture will look like

THE WRAPPING
1.  Put few drops of cooking oil in a plate before putting the molo wrapper then get one tablespoon of the pork mixture.  (Put oil so it wont stick on the steamer pan)

2.  Start to fold it several times overlapping each fold until it closes.  it looks hard but its easy especially if you get used to it.  The folds doesnt have to be perfect just as long as it closes.  be careful not to break the wrapper.

3.  Steam for 30 minutes.

Optional but recommended:  Saute garlic and chili until light brown. Serve with soy sauce and calamansi.

Yehey! Finished Product.

Its kinda shrunk because the molo wrapper i used was very thin.  You can use/try other brands. (I bought this because this is the only brand available)  he one im using for years was Bambi and Dumplings, its thicker and doesnt shrink after being steamed.

Happy eating! ^_^
