ColorManila: A RUNderful Experience

"We bring out the real fun in the “fun” run, through a color festival. We are the paintbrushes, and You are the Paint. We carry the palette but You make your own Strokes. You become the human Canvas, We literally bring out your most energetic and happiest hue." - ColorManila

OMG..This is it!  I've always wanted to join a fun-run and honestly it took me a while to make it happen, Wondering why? I might just tell about the 13 reasons why my life ended..and more specifically why it started to begin again..coming soon on my future post.. But hey, i'm not Hannah Baker.. k? Haha. Definitely yes, it has been truly a rough time for me but somehow it just made me stronger.  So.. here i am now — exerting myself to the fullest within my limits. Turning my can'ts into cans and dreams into plans because..it is never too late — for anything. Right?

Finally, I registered to this Blacklight Run, my first solo funrun and night run experience. Yey! I choose the 10K Deluxe which includes the dri-fit shirt, racebib, headlamp, finisher medal and few treats such as baggage locker, hydration, color packet and sketchers discount stub.  Now, what am I thinking? The first thing that came into my mind about a night run is that because its running at night time so that means less sweating and so that's a relief coz I don't have to worry much looking so haggard during and after the run. HAHA. I've already had my things ready a week before the event and the day before the run, I'm really feeling soooo nervous and excited at the same time. Goooooodluck to me!

But wait. There had been a few issues regarding the pickup of race kits. I choose the May 23 for my pick up date but a few days before the event, ColorManila surprised everyone with their FREE DELIVERY of race kits. How cool is that?! Most of the participants were upset but I was one of the few who become really happy about it because I don't need to go all the way to Alabang just to claim my kit. But unfortunately, things didn't turn out as expected. My RK (race kit) wasn't delivered to me on time, actually upon reading the disappointed comments of everyone regarding that free delivery, i guess almost all the RK's were not delivered as promised.  >__<

So on the event day, I came early to claim my RK at Festival Mall in Alabang. I got mine around 3pm, stayed for a bit at the mall then went to the event area at Filinvest City.

It's such a looooong walk from Festival Mall to get here. I feel like I had my 10k run in advance already. HAHA.

They are still setting up the venue and I was like "How long do I have to wait here?" Event starts at 8pm but its just 4pm at this time. I'm so excited so I don't wanna be late but I guess I'm way too early. uh oh..

But anyway, the good thing about being an early cat is that I had a lot of time to take pictures and selfies, but of course I won't post them all. HAHA.

Waiting feels like forever! I got bored taking selfies (impossible right? haha) and I feel a bit hungry so I decided to go back to Vivere Hotel and had a japanice time at Jinsei Sushi Bar.

Around 7pm, I went back to the venue and it's a happy sight to see people coming from everywhere.

Rain and shine!

The event was totally lit! Everyone enjoyed even we were all drenched in the rain. The whole field turned into a muddy space and yes as in putik that covered everyone else' shoes.  And to walk around the place became an instant obstacle course for everyone. I'm very careful with every step coz I don't wanna get caught up in a dive-in-the-mud scene. HAHA. It was truly a one of a kind experience!

I went home feeling sooooooooo tired but yes very happy! Thankful to be a part of this wonderful event. Everything that happened this night was priceless — the fun under the nonstop rain, the extraordinary mud run party, how upsetting it was at first (looking at my shoes covered in mud and soaking wet by rain and sweat haha) but it turned out to be the best night run experience ever.

And through the darkness with a sight full of colors..it's really beautiful to look at.,isn't it? but what's more surprising is that these colors in the dark gives light and yes, something called..HOPE.

A hike run or a muddy wet run, whatever everyone may call it, it only mean one thing — it's RUNderful!

              Thank you, ColorManila ❤

Cheers to more funruns ahead and a lot of new things to experience as well as places to wander around.  ❤

Antipolo's Maytime Festival: Procession at Via Dolorosa

Formerly known as "The White Cross," the place is now known as Via Dolorosa at Pinagmisahan St., Antipolo City. The grotto-like hill is now a very spectacular pilgrim site where regular masses and “alay-lakads” are held. On top of Pinagmisahan Hills are the enormous White Cross and the outsized image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Life-sized images of the station-of-the-cross can be seen along the way to the top of the hill which sacredly reflect the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. -source

There are so many wonderful places in Antipolo to visit and this one is definitely one of it. The surrounding was in perfect hues of blues and greens which adds to a very peaceful sight. Birds chirping like a sweet hymn of angels singing up above the clouds. It almost felt like one step closer to heaven. Really. Because it was so high on top of the hill. You can feel the divine presence that it is absolutely the best place for contemplation and heartfelt prayers.
Also, they say that when you whisper your sincere prayers and deepest wishes to God, He will grant it. And so i whispered to Him my heart's desires and with utmost faith, I believe He will grant it..
His will, His time.

Lenten Reflection: Embracing the Cross

"This Good Friday we lovingly recall Jesus' journey to Mt. Calvary which fulfilled His promised redemption of our sins. We remember His joyful attitude in carrying the cross. He endured physical and moral suffering because of His unconditional love for us. "

For each one of us has a cross that we should ardently embrace.

Life consists of triumph and struggles along the way, quite unpredictable as it seems. We all experience a splash of happiness and sprinkles of sorrow. Thus, we must always have hope even when we feel like being defeated. I believe God has His way to teach us lessons we can only learn in such hard ways to test us, to strengthen our faith even more. Truly, the cross we carry may be a symbol of hardship and agony most especially when it become too unbearable for us but we must not forget that the same cross is also a symbol of salvation and resurrection of mankind.

When Jesus collapsed under the wooden cross, He rose again. A lesson that whenever we fall from sin and difficulties, we should stand up, learn from our mistakes, strive to do better and be the best version of ourselves.  To have strong faith, deep courage and a forgiving heart. To accept and follow God's will, not just this Lenten Season but for every moment of our lives.

God wants us to struggle, but not to quit,
to persevere and not to give up.

Valentine Special: That Feeling Called LOVE

You're my CAT. I know you like dogs. But for me, you're my forever cat.

Since it's Valentines' Day, I guess it would be perfect to write something about love. Not quite okay yet I'm a bit glad that I'm able to sort my thoughts at this time.

So there goes Love. Everyone else wants to have it. Everybody needs it. And they even say it's one thing they can't live without.

But are you even ready to accept it and vow to keep it burning real for longer period of time? Or you're just after the convenience of having someone in your life?
Are you willing to sacrifice everything? Or you'll just run away quickly from the responsibility?
Why get attached when it will all ends up in detachment and loss?

Oftentimes, love is a misused word that it loses it's significance.
What's love anyway?

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

"Once Love is defined, it is confined. Once confined, it DIES."
A lot of people try to define love, as much as I want to find the real meaning in it. I'm quite aware that words aren't enough for love to be defined. Yet, i'll still give it a try to put my feelings into words.

It's a common thing to ask, "Why do you love me?" And I guess the common answers would always be based on the physical appearance, the traits, habits and whatsoever you may want to include. We can't really say anything other than that. Though it's quite more safe to say, "It's what I'm feeling." Yes, it's the sweetest feeling when you hear/know the reasons why that certain person loves you. But the fact is, when you always look for reasons or ask them to define the love they had for you, it's like you're forcing them to find reasons to unlove you in the end. Because, once all of the reasons are gone or it has changed in time, love will fade and will be forever gone. It's like the feeling of waking up one day and asking yourself why you ever had loved that person. It's horrible, isn't it?

So the next time you ask someone why they love you, just be happy when they say, "Because I do.." or probably, don't ask at all, just feel it in your heart.

You're in love when you can't explain how you feel.
You're out of love when you have all the reasons why you don't anymore.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

 "Convenience and Comfort kills Love."
It was hard to take at first, but then after a while I saw and felt the deeper meaning in it. Love is not always being happy and comfortable all the time, it's more of the inconvenience and discomforts encountered along the way yet still remain happy and contented with each other. Love, it's a form of sacrifice and enduring the pain of every hardship in this world.

Furthermore, look back the time our parents (relatives or whoever) took care of us when we were still a baby. They don't mind staying up awake all night just to watch over us sleeping so mosquitoes won't bite us. No matter how tired and sleepy they may be, they give us milk when we cry in the middle of the night, gently carrying us around their arms as they hum a lullaby. Then we grow up, and still, they take care of us. They get mad a lot of times when we had done something wrong and they get heartbroken when we get sick or get hurted in any way. They tuck us to bed and make sure we get a good sleep. They prepare our meals. They provide whatever we need and even the pleasures we want. They work hard. They even still stay late awake waiting for us to come home from school, from work or from wherever we had been. They're happy enough just to see us happy. And though some parents may not say the word "I Love You" all the time, but in every thing they had done, it's more than too obvious that they really do love us despite of the inconvenience and discomfort of everything.

If you seek love, I mean, real love, one must be ready to be selfless and wholeheartedly accept the pain, inconvenience and discomforts that it would bring.

Acts of love, never to be defined at all,
only to be appreciated and felt with the heart.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

"Love comes in two ways - Attachment and Detachment"
Attachment is quite good to hear yet detachment is a bit confusing and heartbreaking to perceive. You may ask, where's love in detachment when detaching means leaving and being disengaged with anything or someone close to your heart? Actually, I had that same question in my mind that I'm trying to find the answer myself.

Attachment to Love

Attachment is having strong feelings of affection for someone and a connection that binds two people across time and space. Though, some attachment are not reciprocated and is not being shared.

I suppose this happens in all kinds of relationship. Attachment, for me, is when we stay very close with someone and at the same time have that certain fear of the unknown and that both may lose each other in the end. Yet this fear is the same thing that shove us to get attached even more. Still wanting to holding on to it and hoping it would last. It's like being responsible for the happiness of the other or mostly, it can be both. Finding someone who truly understands and accepts you leads to instant closeness and a blooming attraction. Especially when you've been in a situation where all you needed was someone to be there, you'd be weak enough to resist the desire of it.

Attachment, like a camera zoomed on focus, the picture becomes all too blurry when it's too close than it should be. There goes the feeling of being too clingy that somehow it manifest being jealous at times and controlling each situation that may not be favorable for the person attached. Hence, attachment gives power to emotional dependency causing a person to be reliant and fully enmeshed with their partner. Sometimes, we all get too selfish and demanding, wanting to benefit too much of it. Failing to see that grasping and putting too much pressure burns down the love that blooms in the attraction therein. However, it does not claim to be that the proximity of someone is somewhat dangerous. I guess it just needs proper balance and more selfless love in it.

How do you know when the attachment began to form into love? I believe that is when you feel pain. When you get affected and hurt even with the smallest gestures and ways of the other person. When you become too close that you can't simply imagine life without that certain person. When you began to become too clingy and manipulative in such things. When you feel tormented that it might not work out and the fear of losing is stronger than ever.

Indeed, it is a wonderful feeling to be intertwined with someone and that eventually you two might fall deeply in love. Who doesn't want it anyway..right? Just that, in some cases, when feelings like love are revealed out in shadows of deep attachment, sometimes it is painfully not reciprocated.

Love in Detachment

Detachment, as described is the form of disengaging from an over-enmeshed or dependent relationship with people. It is developing an emotional distance from someone whom you have given a lot of power to affect your emotional outlook on life. Detachment means letting go and non-attachment means simply letting be.

Looking into the bright side,  the word itself may sound very callous but then it isn't as harsh as it seems. Detachment, for me, is simply the willingness to back away and just accept the realities in life that are out of control and can't be changed. It is somewhat an emotional shield to protect someone from experiencing severe pain in the next few hours of his/her existence. Also, it is to prevent not to be emotionally ravaged from being overly dependent and attached with certain people in our life. That in the end, we might hopefully regain the sense of autonomy and independence that had been lost in us because of the irrational point of entanglement.  It is a freedom and wide space given to one or two individuals to act themselves and to obviate hovering in the shadow of each other.

People walk in our lives just like others have to walk out of it. Why is that? Why can't we keep the ones we truly love? No matter how we wanted to, we just can't. Some things are just out of our control. Just like the feeling we have over these circumstances - the grief we had when a loved one dies, the painful rejection when the person you liked dumped you, the misery when your partner suddenly broke up with you, the bitterness when someone replaced you, the confusion when someone close to you become distant, the sorrow in every goodbye and separation. When any of that happen, no matter how deep the emotions are or how strong the attachment may be, you simply have to detach a part of yourself from them. Detach if you have to. Sometimes it's the least you can do to save yourself from falling apart. Yes, it's tormenting pain to gain and lose at the end but we need to understand that some things can never be just like some people can't stay in our life. There are some lessons in this life that we can only learn in the hardest way.

I guess that's always a part of loving people. Sometimes you have to let go. Yet letting go doesn't mean that you don't care about them anymore. It's just that it happens that you've come to a bitter realization that the only person you have control over is yourself, and not the people around you, nor the person you love the most. There are these issues in life that are so damn hard yet you need to compromise to give up in order to gain something greater or because it's the only choice left for you to take. Whatever it is, it's undeniable that we all have reasons for our own actions, whether be it for our own good or for the good of the other.

People come and go. We can never really ask anyone to stay, no matter how we beg them not to. But when someone is etched in your heart, they're never truly gone. They will surely be there for a long time. Though chances are, they may come back to you, even at unlikely times.  I firmly believe that the only the ones who are meant to be in our lives are the ones who are meant to stay there no matter what. Yet still, we can't change the fact that once they leave us, they take a part of ourselves we can't effin' take back.

To lose someone you love is to alter your life forever.

That Feeling Called Love
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Love, known to be an intense feeling of deep affection. It is a certain emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. A feeling that exist between family members, friends and couples. It's simply like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.

To love is to be vulnerable. To let them be happy all the time, to wish them well, to refrain from expecting anything in return and to set them free if needed to.  Love happens when there is intimacy, understanding, contentment and acceptance despite the flaws and differences of one another. To love is to let the people we love to be themselves and not to twist or change them to fit the image we want to see in them. To love is to accept the other person just the way they are and the way they are not. True, you don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not and with that imperfections, it makes the love more stronger and the relationship worthwhile.

Moreover, loving someone is giving a piece of yourself even when they didn't ask for it. It is being together in good times and most especially during the bad times. It is being honest, faithful, always telling the truth and never pretending. Love doesn't have to be selfish - it is to have the freedom to pursue your own plans and desires in life while sharing your experiences and growing together with the other person. Love doesn't turn you into a lesser person rather it naturally brings out the best in you.

Real love is unconditional. It's like a sandwich with the yummy spread of compassion and devotion.  It is to love when things are going your way and even when things are not going the way you expected it to be. And to some point that when the one you love shove you, make an effort to move a little bit closer. Love is loving the person more than your pride.

Love is not self-absorbed, but allows us to extend to others without feeling drained.

  ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Each individual have their own views when it comes to love and I guess whatever I had written is just a small slice of what love really is.. for me. Some may agree and disagree, that's fine. The only sure thing about love is, it makes the world go 'round and gives everyone all the happiness through that feeling called love.

And maybe it's clearer, even you like dogs, to me, You'll always be a CAT.

(CAT - "Caw Ang Truelove ko" derived from a pal, it's coooorny but it's sweet.)

Papal Visit 2015: Viva il Papa Francis!

MANILA, Philippines - Pope Francis is now in the Philippines for his historic state and apostolic visit. The plane carrying Pope Francis arrived at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City at 5:32 p.m. The Pope just came from his two-day visit to Sri Lanka.
Before stepping out of the plane, the Pope was seen peering out of his window several times as the crowd cheered excitedly.  The pope was all smiles while waving on top of the jet's steps even if the wind blew away his skullcap.
"Our nation is honored to welcome His Holiness Pope Francis as he joins the Filipino people for an apostolic visit," Aquino said in a statement ahead of the pontiff's arrival. "This is a momentous occasion for us. We shall be in the presence of the Vicar of Christ, a man who leads the Catholic Church along the path of mercy and compassion." -Philstar

An overwhelming, enormous crowd waiting at Ayala Bridge
It's such a very great feeling! I was so overwhelmed with emotions. So blessed to have been part of this wonderful experience.
His mobile car passed by swiftly fast in a split of a second yet the indescribable feeling remains...

___________________________________________________________

Hello! How's the festive fun goin' on? I hope you all had a marvelous time with family and friends. Yesterday, I was invited by a friend to watch an MMFF movie. EOP movie is a random choice. I'm more into horror films but then, it's been a while since i haven't watched a romance-comedy movie so going for this one makes me a bit excited. Guess what, i never thought i could relate so much to it and will be inspired in a way. Yay!

Anyway, these are my hugot thoughts on some of my most favorited scenes.

"Julian is talking to his dad via video call then his father said this: We never forget the people we love. Once they're gone, they're gone. We just have to stop thinking about what went wrong and start thinking what's going right."

It's absolutely true. There will come a time in our life that we will meet that special someone and we will love them with all our hearts. And even after they'd left us, they still stay in our hearts. We still have this love for them even we know they already found someone else. We stalk them. We hold on to the tiniest bit of hope that there's still a little love left for us and that they also feel the same heartbreak we are feeling. Forgetting them could be so hard coz no matter how we try not to remember, we sometimes end up thinking about them..over and over again.

"Julian in the bar, drinking alone, girls approached him."
Girl 1: (I forgot what the girl said haha)
Julian: I just want my privacy..please.
Girl 2: Hi! Im (insert girl's name) and you are...?
Julian: Im......NOT interested.
Girl 3: What are you doing? (something like that)
Julian: Stalking my ex-girlfriend!

This made me really laugh and yeah reminds me of someone. It's true when a person loves you too much, they won't be interested with anyone no matter how attractive (seductive) they may be. It's quite unbelievable for some, coz sometimes when people get their hearts broken, they go for anybody who will make them forget the pain even just for a short while. So totally hats off to those few who never used and never plan to use other people to get over their exes.

"Tere shouted at a konduktor over her frustration being single and alone while waiting in line to ride a jeepney - Oo na! Ako na! Ako na ang mag-isa! Ako na ang martir! Then when she passed by a couple she blurted out: "Maghihiwalay din kayo!"

I bet all the singles out there laugh hard over this scene. Yes, it may be a bit predictable but still it came out really humorous. The serious teary-eyed Tere helped a lot for anyone to easily connect to that sad feeling. That harsh reality we can't deny that sometimes we become alone, we feel alone, we've been used, left broken by the people we truly love. We end up wondering why all those things have to happen and why it seems like we are never enough for someone to stay and be contented with us in the same way that we are to them.

Sharing the Movie Lines + Translation + My Hugot Thoughts
Oftentimes, we are naturally amused by the movie lines in the movies we are watching or had watched. Here are some of #EOPLines that'll surely hit you big time.

It’s not you, It’s Me.
Translation: Hindi ikaw. Kundi ako. (hindi na ikaw, may iba na.)
Thoughts: This is a common phrase (perfect excuse) of an arguing couple that often leads to breakup (or the other way of saying that you are not the cause of the breakup but they'd rather leave than stay) Upon watching the movie, i suddenly realize that it was such a very lame excuse for someone to say who just wants to be out of the relationshit. A pathetic alibi. Well, it could be totally reasonable in some way, but most of the times, it's just like admitting one's mistake then silently rejecting the other person in a sweet way.

 Itodo mo na…HOY!
Translation: Hey you! Give it your best shot!
Thoughts: In life, we do get scared to take risks because we've been hurted so much before or maybe we're just too afraid to accept failures. But oftentimes, when love struck us, all of sudden we give everything we can offer. We don't care if there's nothing left to us, we just give all our best to be atleast enough for the person we love, And oh my, that's partly being stupid. What's more insane is that, it makes us happy. No doubt with that.

Mahal mo nga, e mahal ka ba?
Translation: You love him, but does he love you back?
Thoughts: Unrequited love exist - it grows in the heart of anyone in the most unexpected time. A wretched feeling of loving someone who doesn't feel the same way. It's just too painful to bear but still your heart wont stop. You cant do anything about it, you just have to do everything to be worth it and be lovable in return. Indeed, Love does makes any person an awesome tanga.

Pinapatawad na kita kahit di ka humihingi ng tawad sa akin.
Translation: I have already forgiven you even if you didn't asked for it.
Thoughts: To love a person is to forgive them always and accept them over and over again. Why? Because that's the magic of love. You lose your brain, you become tanga but you just don't mind coz what's more important to you is the person and not the mistakes. So you forgive even if it's not yours to do, you'd let it all pass than to lose the person. Seriously harsh.

Kumokota ka na sa pagkatanga sa pag-ibig.
Translation: You have already reached the limit of being fool in love.
Thoughts: Love is being foolish together and sometimes we never care if we've gone beyond our limits. We just love.

Mahal kita. Okay. Pero slight lang. Yata.
Translation: I love you. Okay. Slight..maybe?
Thoughts: How do you know when you really love someone? Sometimes, people get blinded by sudden infatuation with someone that they often mistaken it as love. Or maybe, making themselves believe it is love because it's the bridge to getting everything they want. Like the person is beneficial to them so they hang out as long as they can and convince each other that what they have is that thing called Love. Even when it's too clear that it's not. Yet sometimes, it doesn't really matter - as long as the person tells you that magic word and you're totally fine with it (feel it or not enough) then just carry on being a tanga until such time you'll realize it's all a waste.

Ngayon lang ako nagmahal ng ganito, ngayon lang ako nasaktan ng ganito, ngayon lang..
Translation: It’s only now that I’ve loved like this. It's only now I've been in too much pain. Only now.
Thoughts: There will come a time in our life when we will love a person like we've never felt before. It is a sure feeling and we get drowned by all of the overflowing emotions. Yet suddenly, the person we thought that is the rightest one for us doesn't think that we are the one for them..so they leave us and we get tortured by the excruciating pain that seems so endless.

Okay lang magpakatanga sa tamang tao.
Translation: It's okay to be foolish for the right person.
Thoughts: It’s okay to give everything to the person who will do the same for you..and/or who, you are sure enough that won't waste the love and devotion you will shower them.

Wala namang magbibilang kung ilang beses ka nagpakatanga di ba?
Translation: No one will count how many times you’ve been foolish, right?
Thoughts: Reassuring yourself that it's okay to be stupid, that no one is looking even how many times you fall in love and failed over again. It's pathetic. Yet just like they say, those wrong ones are simply "stop-overs" in our journey before we finally meet the rightest one for us. Unfair eh?

Darating din yung tao na di ka iiwan. Di ka ipagpapalit. Yung sayo pa rin babalik. Siyempre magkakamali ka at mag-aaway kayo pero nandiyan lang siya para sayo.
Translation: Eventually, there will be a person that won't leave you and won't replace you for anyone else. The one who will always come back to you. Of course, you will make mistakes. You will fight with each other, but that person will always be there for you.
Thoughts: Don’t settle for wrong love. Seriously, don't force yourself to be in another wrong relationshit just because youre sad and lonely. It's unfair. It's like setting yourself in a trap. Learn to wait a little longer. That magical moment will come. You will find the rightest person who will see your worth and will stay with you for always.

OO NA! AKO NA! AKO NA ANG MAG-ISA! Ako na ang martir.
Translation: Yeah right! It's me! I’m forever alone. I’m the masochistic.

Thoughts: When we get our hearts broken, we feel that every part of ourselves is broken too. We pity ourselves and endless questions continuously float in our minds. It's saddening to be left alone by the people whom we love so much. We even reach to the point where we drowned ourselves in too much stupidity just to make them stay. We let our love for them rule over our life that when they suddenly leave us, we end up shattered into million pieces. The emptiness inside is killing us slowly until we become numb and live in total misery.
Forever alone. That goes in your head always and you already believed that. The saddest part is when someone comes along, it will be hard for you to accept them because you see that they will also leave you in the end. Yet still it wont hurt to spare a piece of hope that somehow, someday things will get all better and the one meant for you will magically appear in the most unexpected moment of your life. The one who won't want to leave your side, the one who'll be more scared to lose you. The one who will love you for who you are and will wholeheartedly accept you for who you are not. The one that God is preparing for you. Do all what it takes..even if it means waiting for that ONE. Patience, my child.

My Review for EOP

"ENGLISH ONLY, PLEASE", a lighthearted comedy romance movie entry for the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival. The usual Pinoy love cliches that surely anyone can relate with. This movie will undeniably touch your heart especially with the laughable bittersweet hugot lines.

With the well executed story, Tere Madlansacay's vivacious character and Julian Parker's cuteness as he familiarize with the Filipino jargon, this movie truly deserve the awards they've won in the MMFF Awards Night. A movie with a simple story line yet very well-performed that made it all the way up to success. Kudos to all the cast and most especially to the director, Dan Villegas.

Looking forward for more films like this - simple yet eminently winsome.

My Final Thoughts (Love Lessons)
Overall, the movie tells us the reality about finding love in the most unexpected moment of our lives. Sometimes, we get too blinded with people whom we love but doesn't love us back in the same degree, believing that they are the only right ones for us. We insist and we do everything just to let them stay but in the end, they always leave us for the one they love..for the one they think they deserve.

It clearly states that there's no point in looking back over a failed relationship. We need to stop dwelling in the past, it can never be changed no matter how you try to. We can only learn from it. Some exes are worth waiting for and worth going back for but most of them doesn't deserve a second chance of romance. No matter how deep the feelings you may have for them, either bury it deeper or try harder to get rid of it. Well, still, case to case basis. There may be few exes that is worth for a second chance but still, we don't have to spend our life waiting for them to be back in our life. What's meant to be will always finds it way. What's not meant to be had already found someone else. muhaha!

So .. there goes LOVE. It's stupid. It makes us foolish. It gives us our own version of tangang tangang tanga talaga moments. We can't deny to ourselves that once in our life we've tried so hard just to be more than enough for the person we love too much that we almost forgot our own value. We become idiots in love, just like Julian Parker and Tere Madlansacay.

Bottomline: Don't waste an opportunity, just because you're afraid or it didn't work out in the past..Sayang!.

so pano..Kita-kits Beh!

Love is something worth looking for, worth waiting for and worth keeping forever.

Ballet: Magical Moments of Cinderella

*late post
This highly celebrated retelling of the quintessential rags to riches fairy tale by Ballet Philippines’ Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus, Alice Reyes, brings laughter, merriment, and romance to the holiday season. -BalletPh
Cinderella's Story
In a far away, long ago kingdom, Cinderella is living happily with her mother and father until her mother dies. Cinderella's father remarries a cold, cruel woman who has two daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. When the father dies, Cinderella's wicked stepmother turns her into a virtual servant in her own house. Meanwhile, across town in the castle, the King determines that his son the Prince should find a suitable bride and provide him with a required number of grandchildren. So the King invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball, where his son will be able to choose his bride. Cinderella has no suitable party dress for a ball, but her friends the mice, led by Jaques and Gus, and the birds lend a hand in making her one, a dress the evil stepsisters immediately tear apart on the evening of the ball. At this point, enter the Fairy Godmother, the pumpkin carriage, the royal ball, the stroke of midnight, the glass slipper, and the rest, as they say, is fairy tale history. -IMDb

We all know the story right? There could be some other versions and addition to it but as always, it is patterned in the original plot.

Personal Thoughts
I often believe that my life is a fairy tale itself. Just that, there's no title yet. Haha! I just know I'm an ordinary city girl who dreams of being a real princess somewhere in England..someday. (Ohh i know that's too exaggerated! Haha!) Anyway, i live with that quote: "Just because i don't have a Prince, doesn't mean I can't be Princess.." That's right eh? So anyone can feel like princessy even without the majestic gowns, dazzling tiaras, a luxurious castle or even without a handsome prince. You just have to believe you are in some other way.

Somehow, some people could relate to some of those famous fairy tales too - just like Cinderella's story, just maybe in a modern way. Yet unlike these so-called-Fairy-Tales, we don't always get to have our happy ending in the real world. The rest of the scripts of our life is unwritten and is yet to be discovered so we can't really be sure that we can be that one lucky person to find the true love's kiss and a happily ever after ending.

Fairy tales make us hope that there could be that someone, the rightest one meant only for us. That person who will love and accept us beyond physical appearance and hideous flaws. A prince for a princess and a princess for a prince. Isn't that so lovely? We all get that feeling of longing for our fairy tale dream to come true. But sometimes, there's always a hindrance like maybe the wicked stepmom/stepsisters, a deceiving encounter or rather life's unpredictable complications back in reality.

Thus, I see the glass slippers like an expectation of every person to be rightful for the other person. I mean, the invisible glass slippers will fit only to the one destined for us. And it may sometimes fit with the other wrong ones but sooner or later we will always end up having an aching and sooo tired feet (heart) because it isn't the perfect right size for us. Or maybe because we forced to fit in that glass slipper we weren't supposed to have in the first place. Sometimes we want someone because we think we should have them. We were blinded with that fantasy that it is our true love and to have him/her would just be so perfect. Think again. True love is a feeling that doesn't just pop out in the middle of nowhere just because the glass slippers fitted, that is only the beginning. In order to make it last, you still have to work for it. Know that word - hardwork and bravery? That's what true love can be.

My Review for Alice Reyes' Cinderella
How i love fairy tales! So i didn't miss this moment to finally watch Cinderella (If i'm not mistaken BalletPH had it last or last last year but i wasn't able to watch it that time) So this time was that perfect time to catch the show on stage. So what can i say about it?

The ballet show was impressively beautiful and full of glamour. From the creative stage set and costume designs to the gracefulness of every ballet dancers, it is indeed an exquisite performance. I'm so fascinated how ballet portrays a story without the use of words and that the audience understands so well. It's truly entertaining and i had lots of that magical fun all throughout the day.

And since taking photos during the play isn't allowed (Im sooo obedient mehehe) So this two pictures are borrowed only. They're all so very graceful! And i so love the part of the stepmon and stepsisters. There's a very loud applause when they bow down in the front stage, i guess everyone loves their amusing acts. I love the carriage pumpkin as well but i hope they did a bit longer exposure like flaunting it again before the magical play ends.

My Wanderland on its 5th year

Hooray for today! My blog is five years old. Yey!

Looking back, i usually write about anything under the sun. I mean i didn't care much about who might read whatever i had written or that it will interest them in some way. All i wanted then was to pour my heart out. Until such time i learned about social networking blogs which i joined myself in. I didn't change anything in my way of writing but i did become cautious of posting too much personal rantings (which i guess i didn't succeeded much with that) Anyway, i did make sure of having random posts that might be helpful to some readers out there. Being part of blog groups, and of something around the globe is such a good feeling and earning friends along the years of my blog existence made it all worthwhile.

Like  some other few, i also did several blog name changes until the year came (long time ago) when i finally become contented with it. Maria's Wanderland. I even bother my very busy closest someone to pick a blogname for me but ended up giving me too sweet names which i did appreciated but thought that it would be too cheesy for a blog. The funny thing is, i get annoyed then and didn't tell my chosen blogname to that someone but that someone managed to find out what it is in just less 24 hours after i had it changed. How sweet was that? I was really cluelessly amazed. A techy wizard huh?

This blog has been my wanderland for quite some time. It is where i put all those wandering thoughts and not-so-fairytale happenings of my life. I am usually in many things and almost nothing at the same time. Always been searching for anything that never change and always hoping that it would last forever.  I guess the wonder part of having a blog is like you have a collection of written memories that you can re-read anytime you feel like it.

My blog extension, which is Emotera's Notebook also on it's 5th year is the other side of me as a drama princess and a poet-in-the-making.  Mostly, i write there when i'm falling inlove, falling apart or just caught in between that's why i seldom update it coz sometimes i just don't feel any emotional words to choke out.

So there.. before anything else, i would like to take this opportunity to thank all my blogger friends, followers, commentors and readers out there.
